We may already be greener than other telecoms companies but are always looking to do more.
Becoming More Environmentally Sustainable
The Sustainability Fund is there to help fund further improvements by financing the difference
between the cost we could afford based on normal investment criteria,
and the total cost of projects, with an emphasis on capital projects such as renewable generation
and energy efficiency.
We are currently looking at options for new premises, as we are starting to outgrow the current head office.
The Sustainability Fund will help us make the new building as ecologically sustainable as possible.
How You Can Help
We see the Fund as being run in partnership with our customers and members. You can contribute in a variety of ways:
- Switching to electronic billing - we will put £5 of the savings on
postage and related costs into the new fund for every person who switches to email billing from now on.
This is a way of reinforcing what is already a good environmental choice which saves paper, printing and
transport.
- Members can choose to waive the interest on their share accounts and/or dividend in favour of the
Fund - for many members this is a small amount, but if lots of members do this, it all adds up and
makes a real difference.
- Make a donation to the Sustainability Fund
